Professor Joshua Mok and Dr Chan Awarded Research Grants by the Hong Kong Government

Recently, Chair Professor Joshua Mok Ka Ho and Assistant Professor Chan Chi Ming from the Department of Social Science at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong were awarded research funding under the Hong Kong Government’s Public Policy Research (PPR) Funding Scheme.

Professor Mok received HK$558,900 for his project, which examines strategies to attract talented individuals to pursue doctoral degrees in Hong Kong universities and encourage doctoral graduates to remain in the local workforce. Dr Chan received HK$565,191 to investigate approaches for strengthening Hong Kong’s support system for youth entrepreneurship.

The Public Policy Research Funding Scheme, established by the Hong Kong SAR Government, supports evidence-based local public policy research conducted by academic institutions and policy think tanks. Administered by the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit, the scheme aims to enhance the government’s capacity to address long-term and strategic policy issues.
