Hong Kong Principals Basketball Competition:  Fosters Collaboration through Sport and Education

On Monday, 13 July 2026, Professor Joshua Mok Ka-Ho, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), Dean of the Graduate School, and Director of the School of Transdisciplinary Studies (STS) at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), was invited to serve as an award presenter at the award ceremony of the Hong Kong Principals Basketball Competition. The competition, co-hosted by STS and the Hong Kong Aided Primary School Heads Association, was held from 6 June to 4 July 2026. The initiative brought together school leaders, educators, and institutional partners through sport, creating a meaningful platform for professional exchange, community engagement, and collaboration beyond the classroom. Professor Mok’s participation highlighted HSUHK’s commitment to supporting school-sector partnerships and promoting holistic education through cross-sector initiatives.

Professor Mok expressed his appreciation for the collaboration and recognized the competition as an inspiring example of how sports can connect educational communities, strengthen mutual understanding, and foster teamwork among principals. He noted that such initiatives not only encourage physical well-being and sportsmanship, but also open up opportunities for schools and universities to explore deeper partnerships in student development, leadership training, and community service. The successful completion of the competition reflected the shared vision of STS and the Association in nurturing a vibrant and supportive education ecosystem in Hong Kong.
