Harvard, Cambridge, and Oxford Scholar Visits Hang Seng University of Hong Kong for Future Research Collaboration

In a significant step toward fostering academic collaboration, Dr Francis Arthur-Holmes, a distinguished scholar with affiliations to Harvard, Cambridge, and Oxford, visited Hang Seng University on 17 September 2025. Currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, Dr Francis Arthur-Holmes was welcomed by Prof. Ka Ho Mok, Provost and Vice President (Academic & Research) of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and his team at the School of Transdisciplinary Studies.

During the visit, Prof. Ka Ho Mok emphasized the importance of collaborative research efforts between the two institutions. The discussions resulted in the establishment of a new seminar series titled the “Transdisciplinary Seminar Series.” This initiative aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, allowing scholars and students from both Hang Seng University and the University of Portsmouth to present their published and ongoing research.

The seminar series is expected to serve as a platform for exploring further research collaborations, fostering innovation, and addressing pressing global challenges through a transdisciplinary approach. Prof. Ka Ho Mok expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of this partnership, highlighting the shared commitment to advancing knowledge and understanding across disciplines.
