On Saturday, 20 June 2026, Professor Joshua Mok Ka-Ho, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), Dean of the Graduate School, and Director of the School of Transdisciplinary Studies (STS) at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), delivered a talk to members of the Hong Kong Aided Primary School Heads Association.
Entitled “The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong – Professional Teacher Training and Innovation for Education”, the talk was attended by 35 school principals and education leaders. Professor Mok shared HSUHK’s vision and initiatives in advancing professional teacher training, with a focus on interdisciplinary learning, practice-oriented education, and the integration of innovative pedagogies. He also highlighted the University’s efforts in nurturing future-ready talents, fostering innovation and strengthening collaboration across educational sectors.
Following the talk, a survey was conducted to gather participants’ views on the proposed Master of Social Science in Higher Education Management and Leadership programme. All participating principals and education leaders agreed that the programme is relevant to the leadership and management needs of schools and expressed willingness to support student internships and field visits. In addition, 96% of respondents agreed that the programme content aligned with the current challenges faced by school principals and seniormanagement.
After the talk, the principals and education leaders also joined a campus visit covering the University Library, Martin Ka Shing Lee Innovation Laboratory, and HSUHK-Foundation Gallery. The visit provided valuable insights into HSUHK’s academic strengths, learning environment, and student-centered facilities. Participants indicated that both the talk and campus tour further enhanced their understanding of the University’s distinctive positioning and educational offerings.
The event facilitated meaningful exchange between higher education and primary/secondary education leaders, generating valuable insights into curriculum development, teacher professional growth, and emerging educational trends. It also reinforced HSUHK’s commitment to advancing educational innovation and strengthening partnerships with the school sector.
