On 30 April 2026, STS at HSUHK co-hosted the International PhD Seminar titled “Cognitive Fit of AI Tools in Higher Education: An Empirical Study Based on Jungian Typology in Shenzhen-Hong Kong Universities in collaboration with HSE University. This seminar series is designed to promote innovative research and encourage cross-cultural dialogue among PhD candidates in the education sector.
During the seminar, two PhD students presented their research on related topics. Following their presentations, invited experts provided valuable feedback to support the further development of their dissertation work.
Ms Lyu Meijie from the collaborative Doctor of Policy Studies (Education Policy and Management) programme between The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and Lingnan University was a featured speaker, presented her research titled “The Unintended Consequences of the “Double Reduction” Policy: Class Dynamics and Educational Pressure in China”. Mr Leon Eloy Britos from HSE University also presented his work, titled “Parental and Child Factors in School Success: Evidence from a Longitudinal Study”.
We were honored to have 2 distinguished experts to join the seminar and they are Prof. Fu Jiaqi from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and Mr Ilya Denisenko from Pinsky Centre of General and Extracurricular Education.
The research shared by Ms Lyu Meijie and Mr Leon Eloy Britos introduced key perspectives on educational policy impact, family and institutional influences on student outcomes, and contemporary challenges in educational equity, while feedback from experts Prof. Fu and Mr Denisenko offered important suggestions for further research.
We anticipate future seminars that will further connect diverse educational philosophies and advance higher education globally.
